About this pattern
These chickens are a fast and fun way to use up extra yarn, and they bring so much charm to a kitchen shelf or a spring display. Make a big one and a little one and you've got a family.
You make the body in the Wheat Stitch in joined and turned rounds, then crochet the comb and tail feathers. Safety eyes (not recommended for young children) and a small beak are added, then you sew the top closed, attaching the comb and tail feathers as you go. Two sizes are included, a 4 inch small and a 6 by 8 inch large, plus printable tags.

This pattern is so easy to follow and can be used with basically any yarn. Variegated yarn gives them a little extra color. They work up really quick.
