If you can make a rectangle, you can make this hat. That's honestly my favorite thing about it. No working in the round, no counting around a spiral, just rows that turn into a cozy, textured hat you'll want to wear all season.
The hat is crocheted flat, worked in rows from the side across. The clever part is that the crown decreases AND the ribbing happen at the same time, so the shaping is built right in as you go. The pattern comes in eight sizes.
